It finally happened and it happened like this...

We were driving toward Cabo Pulmo on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I stopped the car at a turnout with a perfect view and asked Donna to marry me. She smiled and gave me a kiss and accepted. Then I got my phone out and started punching in her number. She asked what I was doing and I said, “Wait a sec, I’m going to give you a ring.” Can I screw up a moment or what?

It’s taken us 4 years to get here and we’ve had our moments. In fact I got cold feet recently and Donna asked me why. I said that I wasn’t sure I wanted to marry a woman that would have me as a husband. But we worked out a system and when we disagree, we compromise and do it her way.

So please come help us celebrate the 18th of October starting around 5 at the Roadrunner Café (The house is still torn up while we’re remodeling and hey, there’s lots of food at the café) It’s kind of a pre-wedding reception; the wedding is Monday.

I’ll bet there’s at least one traditionalist out there that wants to bring us a gift. A ’54 gold-top Strat would be fine but otherwise we’re almost old people and already have a toaster so please, just come and have some fun with us.

Roadrunner Café is located in Los Barriles, B.C.S., Mexico. Plaza del Pueblo, #5.
